Let me start this off by saying this: if there's one film franchise I would love to see die off, it's the Fast and the Furious series. Never has there been a more laughable, poorly acted, terribly written film series. However, due to the fact this month garner's the fifth release in this franchise, I've decided it's time for me to catch up on this awful series.
I saw the original Fast and the Furious way back when it released in 2001. Hailed as highly original, and one of my generations favorite movies, you'd be surprised that I hate it. I mean, I really hate Fast and the Furious. To me, the premise is just flat out stupid. It's a vehicle for crap actors Paul Walker and Vin Diesel to strut around with their shirts off, and even more stupidity flows from literally every female in that movie. Sadly, "2 Fast 2 Furious" does nothing to improve upon this. In fact, the overall plot of this sequel is even worse then the original film.
What Paul Walker doesn't realize, is this is all he has. His career is filled with these crap movies that sadly, make money at the box office because my generation has some fascination with this urban themed crapfest.
Eva Mendes and Ludicris show up, along with Tyrese Gibson, but none of them bring anything to the table. The plot of 2 Fast 2 Furious is even worse then the original film, giving Paul Walker's character a chance at clearing his name and his mistakes from his past. Continuity errors are abundant, as well as everything else, jokes included, fall flat in this piss poor sequel. How we made it to five films in this franchise, I will still never understand.
