Danny Boyle Director previously directed The Beach

Jim wakes up in a completely deserted hospital after a short coma, only to discover that Britain has been infected by a virus called "the rage", which transforms its victims into what are essentially zombies. He soon bands together with other uninfected people to survive.

Trivia:

This film popularized the idea of fast moving zombies.

Quote: Farrel

Well I think Bill's got a point. If you look at the whole life of the planet, we, you know, man, has only been around for a few blinks of an eye. So if the infection wipes us all out, than it's a return to normality.

28 Days Later is a horror film involving zombies, directed by Danny Boyle. The film’s protagonist, Jim, wakes up after being in a coma for nearly a month (the titular twenty-eight days) only to find the hospital completely abandoned. Confused and alone, he proceeds to walk the empty streets of London. He then encounters several people who have obviously lost their minds, after being infected with a disease called the Rage which strips away peoples' personalities and brings them them into a hyper-aggressive feral state that essentially leaves them as zombies with a pulse. While fleeing the zombies, Jim encounters Selena and Mark, two bandana-equipped survivors. They save Jim, and help him on a journey to his parents' house, but ultimately, for survival. Along the way, they meet characters like Frank (Brendan Gleeson) and his daughter, Hannah, as well as some soldiers. It’s a story of desperation, and the fight for life.

The entire film was filmed on a Mini DV camcorder, the Canon XL-1, though fortunately, it was not done in the manner of The Blair Witch Project or Cloverfield.

The original soundtrack is done by John Murphy.
