The Hunger Games return with such a sequel twist that you can't believe writer Suzanne Collins didn't think of film when writing. Catching Fire builds up with all types of subversive messaging which is interesting but also brings into relief the limitations of the genre and film.
(500) Days of Summer is a comedy-drama movie told from the perspective of Tom Hansen, a greetings card company employee who has ambitions to be an architect. The duration of the film covers the noteworthy events of the 500 days of Tom and Summer Finn's failed relationship - but in a non-linear fashion.
Day 1 sees the pair meet for the first time (Summer starts work as a secretary at the greetings card company). Tom and Summer bond quickly in the first couple of weeks, and start a very casual relationship. However, they both believe and want different things; Tom is a romantic at heart, while Summer refuses to believe in true love and is hesistant to throw herself into a committed relationship.
