The new red band trailer for Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter (ALVH) has been posted. My initial thought process: Literally if I see one more vampire related TV show, movie or book I'm going to jab a stake through my own heart. And WHAT IS THIS MOVIE?! "Oh it's not just another vampire flick, this one's got Abraham Lincoln." WTF Hollywood, stop making such crap (Oh and you Tim Burton, we get it, between this one and Dark Shadows, you're into vampires right now).

That was all before I saw this trailer...

This movie looks cool! Directed by Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted), ALVH follows Abraham Lincoln's revenge killing spree after his mother is murdered by a vampire.

Oh right, that makes complete sense. We're talking standard stuff here. Right?

Yes, the concept is still over the top ridiculous. (I almost would have liked the ridiculousness to be acknowledged in the film with more of a joking tone.) Yet -- and I'm embarrassed to admit this has happened -- this trailer's been able to get me on board for the film. It looks great! VERY weird...

A Screened where the immediate response to "Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter" isn't "why the fuck not, let's do this" is not a Screened I recognize.

Looks quite bloody, hopefully it'll be R and not trimmed down at the last minute to get a PG-13.

Ya know I wasn't entirely sold on this film prior to seeing this. It looks totally bonkers but as an over the top bit of action cinema it can't be to bad. Holy crap the evil guy from A Knights Tale is in this!!! Double Sold.

Man, I really want a Lincoln Force movie to happen now.

I'm curious if the book with the same name has the same amount of action in it. I should probably read that.

Yup. Totally in. Rufus Sewell clinched it. This looks all kinda of rad.

I disagree with the notion that films with silly ideas should be comedic, i find that a far out idea is much more interesting if it's not instantly discarded as being a cheap laugh.

Trailer: Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

The Washington Monument wasn't completed until the 1880s. Apart from that, this film appears to be 100% historically accurate.
