First of all, I do not hate musicals nor the beatles.

Across the Universe was a great idea on paper. A musical in which the characters sing beatles songs. Great concept, failed execution.

First problem, naming all the characters such as Lucy, Jude, and finally, Prudence. Come on.

Some of the placings of the songs in the story, and just tying certain songs in the movie got to be a bit ridiculous.

The music as far as singing goes, spectacular. Everyone had a great voice, minus the person that played Sadie. I could have honestly done without her singing "Helter Skelter". That really pissed me off.

And the whole middle circus part, I was so confused as to what was going on, the movie derailed at that point and never recouped.

Don't bother.
