Adam Strange is the archetype of the 50's sci-fi hero.

Background

Adam Strange is a comic book character that first appeared in Showcase # 17 in December of 1958. He is often considered the archetype of what 50's sci-fi heroes were. His origin was that he was an archaeologist working on a dig in Camaranga, South America when he was accidentally transported to the planet of Rann by a Zeta Beam. Once there he discovered a red suit, jet pack, and ray guns and was soon attacked by vicious monsters and evil scientists. After the Zeta Beam wore off he was teleported back to earth, only to return again to fight crime on Rann and earth.
 

Major Plots

Batman: The Brave and The Bold

Adam Strange first appeared on Batman: The Brave and The Bold in the episode Mystery in Space. The episode featured Batman and Aquaman travelling to Strange's home planet of Rann to fight off the evil Gordanians. His voice was provided by Michael T Weiss.
 

 Justice League: The New Frontier

Adam Strange made an appearance in Justice League: The New Frontier during the end battle sequence against the Centre.
