Al Bundy is a hero to all men and the iconic father on Married... With Children. In high school, he once scored four touchdowns in a single game.

Overview

Al Bundy is the head of the Bundy family, a white-trash family with little money and little manners. He works as a shoe salesman at Gary's Shoes in Chicago, a women's shoe store. There he constantly makes fun of overweight customers which usually storm out as a result. It is a running joke in the series that shoe salesman is the worst possible job someone can have.

Al Bundy attended Polk High School and was an All-City fullback on the football team. His greatest accomplishment was scoring four touchdowns in a single game. However, he suffered an injury that ended his football career before he could move on to college-level. He ended up marrying Peggy for unknown reasons and his life has been going downhill ever since.

Al's favorite place to go is the Nudie Bar. He is also the leader of NO MA'AM (The  National Organization of Men Against Amazonian Masterhood), a group of him and his friends that tried to escape the control of their wives and be able to do their thing. At one point he actually tried to turn it into a religion, but it didn't quite work out as do most of his schemes. The "Bundy Curse" can be blamed for his constant failures, as it prevents any Bundy to be happy or successful.

Al Bundy is constantly belittling his family and shows disdain for them. He sees sex with Peggy as a punishment and hates any intimacy with her. However, Al truly loves his family deep down and occasionally defends them. Whenever Kelly brings home a dirtbag boyfriend, Al grabs him and slams him face-first into the door before literally throwing him out.
