Sydney Bristow thought SD-6 was a branch of the CIA, she thought she was fighting for the good of mankind. It's not until she reveals her secret to her fiance that she realises the truth. Her fiance is murdered to keep the secret and Sydney slowly falls down the rabbit hole in to the role as a double agent, working with her previously estranged father who reveals himself to be a long term double agent.
