Yeh, when I read this, I thought what the hell is this guy talking about.  He's either completely mis-typed what he actually meant or he's wildly mis-informed (to say the least).

I've suddenly got an urge to watch the two Cameron directed Martini Ranch videos. For those of you who don't know Martini Ranch was a mid 80's comedy  band featured Bill Paxton and Andrew Rosenthal on vocals and various members of Devo on the instruments . They did two music videos back in the day directed by James Cameron, "Reach" and "How Can A Labouring Man Find Time For Self Culture". Both videos are on youtube and besides Paxton and Cameron's involvement some of the other names involved in the two videos include Michael Biehn, Lance Henriksen, Jenette Goldstein, Paul Reiser, Kathryn Bieglow, Linda Hamilton, Adrian Pasdar, Rich Rossovich, Catherine Mary Stuart, Anthony Michael Hall and Judge Reinhold.

@djames216: @matthewfinch: Relax guys, I was most definitely kidding. It was rather enlightening, however, to watch Aliens for the first time and realize that every game I've ever loved has been one long Aliens reference.

You KNOW I'll fucking be there kiddos. I love this movie so goddamn much. Still a little pissed because I have the Director's Cut and I'm just now finding out that the Netflix one is different. Hopefully I can procure your version before the show starts so we don't have another Warriors Director's Cut situation. God....so bad.

"Get away from her, you bitch" + the queen alien hiss = chills every time 
 
I love the music before and all throughout the section too.  When it kicks in, it really kicks in and gets you going more than any other movie I can think of.

To bad I haven't picked up the BluRay yet.

@Rorie: I see how those themes fit, what with Ripley being vulnerable and alone to the overpowering alien. Aliens always felt like "Taking the fight back to our opposers" movie to me, but motherhood obviously plays a part in that.

Dad thought it would be a good idea for me to see this movie when I was about 9 years old.
 
HOLY SHIT.  For about a month I was completely convinced that aliens were in my closet and one day they would get me while I was sleeping.
