Amadeus is an award-winning 1984 musical film based on Peter Shaffer's acclaimed play, which centred on the intense rivalry between composers; the gifted-but-irresponsible Mozart and the pathologically jealous journeyman Antonio Salieri.

Trivia:

Several of Salieri's exaltation of Mozart are inaccurate. He states that Mozart started composing at the age of four, when in reality his first compositions appeared when he was five, and he began his popular tour around Europe at age six. Additionally, while Mozart could composed without instruments, and without corrections, he did occasionally abandon works he felt were false-starts, and erasures started to appear on his sheet music in later life.
