Do you care about this movie?

I never got the American Pie movies. They were frustrating situations that a normal person could easily explain their way out of added into dumb sexual based humor. I'd be lying if I said they never made me laugh or chuckle, but they certainly don't hold the level of reverence that the commercials imply.

So is anyone out there an American Pie series fan?

Does this movie coming out make you excited?

Or can we let "pie fucking" die a lonely and cool whip free death?

I think we can let "pie fucking" die a lonely and coop whip free death. I'm not quite sure why a comedy needs a budget of $50,000,000 (it is a comedy right) and I don't intend on seeing this and just plan on continually these films.

Nope American Pie is for thos damn teenagers from the late 90's early 2000s. Since I was still lovin my Saturday morning cartoons at the time put simply NOPE. American Pie 2 is a ok movie as a former band person in high school plenty of "That one time at band camp..." jokes were made. Other than the trivia that my local/current community college marching band has mainly been the "band" in those movies it is truly hard for me to care about this movie.

The red band first trailer was kinda funny though.

The movies are alright, at least the ones I saw. I never found them particularly great, but worth one view on cable.

@CrimsonAvenger: I have to assume the budget is for all the actors they have. Alyson Hannigan has done great on HIMYM and the others have had...decent...careers since the first American Pie movie. So I'm sure they are demanding more.

That and I imagine the studio thinks this will be a big hit so why not invest way too much money into the project?

Nope, I wasn't even into the first movie, much less the official sequels and the dozens (is it dozens? feels like dozens) of spin-offs. I think it's kind of cool that they are making it, though, admittedly, as it's potentially a way to have people who are fans of the series have a 'real' send off. More franchises should be so lucky.

I think the American Pie movies are completely stupid.

That is very, very generous of you. I honestly thought Tara Reid was dead.

Anyway... there's always a place for teen sex comedies, and I thought the first flick in this series was solid enough, heavy on the crushed hopes, gross out stuff, and tits to fit the bill, but that just makes it seem weirder to me that anyone would be interested in revisiting that specific story in the future. Those dumb situations are excusable because they're kids, but if you try and have the same kind of movie with adults, it just gets sad really quick.

At least Jennifer Coolidge and Eugene Levy are still makin' some cash?

I think I was too old when I saw American Pie, so I never really thought it was funny. That said, I'm going to a free screening of the new movie next week.

I was the right age for the first American Pie and I genuinely liked it.  You can tell the original has heavily influenced "R" rated sex comedies just like Scream influenced the horror genre for better or worse.  The two sequels were horrible and I didn't bother seeing the numerous made for video sequels.  So to answer your question no, unless it gets positive reviews.   As of right now the trailers look atrocious and reminds me that poor Jason Biggs will always be remembered as a pie fucker.

it looks like a pretty good stupid fun film

I lost the count at 4 but I enjoyed 1-2 when I saw them in theater, haven't seen them since

I'm not in the least interested in seeing the film. I'll be quite content If I never again encounter Seann William Scott in any film, ever.

@mylifeforAiur: I would agree, but I loved him in Role Models. Just like I really don't give a fuck about Jason Biggs, but he was actually pretty decent in Anything Else. Even the most annoying actors can be good if the casting is right.

The girl from How I Met Your Mother continues to be ridiculously cute, and Sean William Scott will always have my good graces, especially thanks to Goon. As for the franchise in general, I could give two shits about it, honestly. I mean they're funny, I guess, but in a way that doesn't really speak loudly to me. Are there people out there who find this legitimate return to the franchise as something they need/want? Maybe. If so, glad they got it? Yeah, glad.

@mylifeforAiur: I liked him in The Rundown and Role Models

@nofx4208: No offense to How I met Your Mother fans but she will always be Willow from Buffy The Vampire Slayer first foremost.

I have seen all of the movies in the franchise, even the straight to DVD spin offs. (Two of those spin offs are actually pretty good, no joke). So yeah, I guess you could say I do care about the movie. There's some actual humor and clever bits in the first two. American Wedding, though, felt off, largely because most of the cast was gone and so was the heart.

Just like the other American Pie movies, I'm not interested in seeing this at all because it felt totally dumb to me ever since seeing the first one even though I fit it's demographic now.

Yeah liked the first 2, 3 was alright. Its looks like a good version of grownups to me. On a side note I wonder how it feels to be casted as the fat ugly girl in a movie.

Trailer 3: American Reunion

Steve Stifler: most annoying movie character outside of an Adam Sandler film? Can we reach a consensus on this?

Trailer 2: American Reunion

This is the EIGHTH film in the American Pie series, if you count the DVD spin-offs. How many sexually inept Stifler siblings could there possibly be?

Red Band Trailer: American Reunion

Who would've thought that in 2011 Alyson Hannigan would wind up being the highest-paid member of an American Pie cast?
