A hearty workhorse with farm-grown strength, attitude, and loyalty. One of the lead characters from "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic".
Applejack is a farm-raised working horse and a close friend of Twilight Sparkle. She lives on the Sweet Apple Acres farm outside of Ponyville, along with her older brother, Big Macintosh, her little sister, Apple Bloom, and their grandmother, Grannie Smith. She is respected by those around her for her dependability.
Her cutie mark, three red apples, represents her apple-farming background.
She is voiced by Ashleigh Ball, who also voices Rainbow Dash.
Applejack comes from a long line of Equestrian apple farmers. She grows and harvests them on her farm, Sweet Apple Acres, along with Big Macintosh, her brother. She has lived on the farm her entire life, except for the brief time she lived with her upper-class cousins in Manehatten. (Still can't get over that.) While she was there, she saw a vibrant rainbow, the result of Rainbow Dash's sonic rainboom, that pointed her back to the farm, where she had remained ever since: living a simple farmer's life.
Having lived a country life, Applejack is no stranger to hard labor. She believes, a respects, the virtue of a hard day's work and isn't afraid to get her hooves dirty. Her key personality trait is her dependability. She is always willing to help her friends, relatives, and neighbors with any task presented to her. However, she is also quite stubborn; sometimes refusing to listen to reason or accept help when she needs it the most.
Applejack has little interest in "girly" activities. Like Rainbow Dash, she prefers more tomboyish activities like football, rodeo, and hoof-wrestling. She is also not into formal, or girly, attire, preferring to wear her work clothes whenever possible.

- Of the main characters, Applejack is the oldest pony in the toy line: having first appear in the first-generation. She is also the only main character to have appeared in the 1980's cartoon.
