"O-kay, who'd like a banger in the mouth?"

Annyong! Yesterday, at NAB in Las Vegas several members of the cast of Arrested Development attended a Netflix-sponsored event, and we finally learned some more about plans for the fourth season of the show. The best news? All 10 episodes will be available on Netflix on one single day. Woo-hoo! Mitch Hurwitz spoke about the new season and his original plans to make this run an anthology where each story would tell a self-contained story about each character. He said, "that is now kind of evolving into becoming more like the old show again." Thank someone, because I did not like the idea of seeing the characters stories separately.

The brilliance of the show is how carefully the stories are inter-woven, so I don't know that it could be the same without the whole family back together again. I'm also very curious how they are going to deal with the fact that Michael Cera is much more grown up (although it's not like he doesn't play George Michael Bluth in every movie he does already). Hurwitz also said this about using a "marathon-esque" format of the show, " There's going to be some mystery sprinkled throughout this [but] instead of watching one a week and try to get ahead of it, the hope is [fans] will watch them all together and then go back and look for clues and connections." There is not a single thing bad that I can find to say about any of this news, except that it will be coming out next year which feels soooooo far away.

If Gene Parmesan doesn't make a cameo I won't watch it. But I have to watch it to figure out whether or not he's in it... *insert [anything Tobias said]*

Is this really an appropriate title? I clicked on it because I recognized the reference but to an outsider it makes no sense. How about "Arrested Development Season 4 Details"? Also, "O-kay"? What the hell is that supposed to mean?

Who wouldn't click on a discussion of "a banger in the mouth", context or no? Although yeah, "O-kay" isn't really a thing.

O-well. :/

The whole idea of a mystery running through this has got me really excited. I've watched the entire series probably at least 6 times through, and it still amazes me how well they tied up the "Building homes in Iraq" plot line. Especially considering they were cancelled halfway through the season and had to wrap it up on the fly. For a comedy to somehow make that (mostly extraneous) stuff fit perfectly, a mystery thing could be really fun.

We all know that they're also masters of dropping hints that don't make sense until the big reveal. All of Buster's "hand" references in Season 2 are pretty mind blowing.

Let's hope that they do have a good story to tell, though, because more doesn't necessarily translate to "good". And for a show that's so heavily reliant on in-jokes, it could easily... well... do this again:

I always though Arrested Development was and rip-off of Trailer Park Boys.  JKJKJK

If Franlin Delano Bluth is not present, I will be most upset.

Man, I did a marathon of all the seasons last year, and I still don't get any of the references. I guess AR just didn't resonate with me like it did with others, who always seem so eager to call it the best comedy show of all time.

@Sandor: WOW! I've never met someone who's impervious to the comedy perfection that is Arrested Development.

Maybe this is the first sign of some sort of super power? ;)

Oh, I'm hardly impervious. Like I said, I watched all episodes in rapid succession. I found that there was plenty to enjoy and laugh at, and I can't help but think of Tobias every time I see a pair of those jeans now, but it just wasn't this life-changing experience for me. A good show, but when it comes to comedy, I prefer stuff like Louie, Curb, Scrubs and others.

Please don't kill me.
