Members of the Southern Water Tribe, Katara (a waterbender) and her brother Sokka, find a young boy and his giant beast in an iceberg, who turns out to be the long-lost Avatar and last surviving Airbender.
Aang is expelled from the Southern Water Tribe, but in his abscence the village is susceptible to attack from Prince Zuko of the Fire Nation, who must capture the Avatar in order to regain his honor with the help of his Uncle Iroh.

Each character gives their all in this final desperate attempt to stop the Fire Nation from bringing an era of total darkness. Aang finds his unwillingness to kill Ozai to be a major handicap...can he stop the Fire Lord, and do it without losing himself in the process?
