Barry Allen is the silver-age Flash and is the most famous Flash.
Creation
Barry Allen was created in 1956 by Robert Kanigher, Carmine Infantino, and John Broome.
Background
While working late one night at the forensic's lab of The Central City Police Department a bolt of lightning struck a rack of chemicals, right next to where Barry was working. After clearing up the mess he realized he was unharmed, before long he noticed the world was slowing down around him, or more correctly he was super fast. Barry decided to use his powers for good and named himself the Flash in honor of his hero, Jay Garrick-The Flash.
