MrWright Mindless fun that does not take itself too seriously

Upon hearing the that Universal was going to make a film based on the Hasbro board game, I have to admit I was quite excited thinking that a good film about fighting battleships would be worth seeing as the last one made that comes to mind is Battle of the ...

| edit | deleteGenerally, my reviews are spoiler-free affairs. However, the unfortunate reaction to Battleship compels me to resort to a spoileriffic analysis of all the reasons this movie is secretly awesome. There is one big flaw with this movie that must be gotten out of the way first: The aliens ...

sscott25 Battleship - 2 Stars

Continuing with the idea of creating films out of board games, Hasbro’s latest venture onto the silver screen, Battleship, hit the big screen this last weekend. The film has the looks of a summer blockbuster. Massive budget, stars, stunning visuals, and an explosive trailer, but does it deliver? Not so much.Something ...

Count_Zero Oh, my God, the padding.

So, I went and saw Battleship, and made it halfway thorough the film before I gave up. That said, this film is, frankly, padded all to hell - enough that even with what little I've seen, I cannot recommend seeing it in the theater.

MasterPr0phet Not even shamefully good.

The running gag of Battleship is that there is no running gag, it is a gigantic mess and a total waste of your time.To me, Battleship looked like it would fall under the category of "so bad it's good", instead, Battleship comes off as a highly flawed attempt to make ...

etragedy Independence Day Without the Will Smith-iness

Here's a surprise, Battleship, a movie based on the 45 year old board game doesn't completely suck. Face it, we all thought it would. And truth be told, it's hard to call it a good movie. The whole thing is little more than a 2 hour commercial for an X-Box ...

biggest_loser Battleship is here to recruit you

Based on the board game of the same name, Battleship opens with a washed up loser Alex Hopper (Taylor Kitsch) and his brother Stone (Alexander Skarsgard) sitting in a bar together. Alex spots a girl that he likes in Samantha (Brooklyn Decker) and is determined to impress her. He breaks ...

Trailer 2: Battleship

Alexander Skarsgard's facial expression more or less mirrors my own in regards to this latest Battleship trailer. Remind me again how this is not an elaborate Michael Bay parody?

Trailer: Battleship

I hate judging movies based on trailers, but...this is 100% guaranteed to be the dumbest movie of all time. OF ALL TIME.
