Yay!
Such a great film.
Great movie. I love the scene when he is walking her and the baby out of the building and all of the soldiers just watch in silence as you only hear the baby cry. Such an effective and moving scene.
An excellent edition to the Besties archive! Great film.
I always confuse the names of this movie and Little Children.
Fantastic movie, worthy entry in to the besties.
Yes, one of the most deserving movies you have done so far. So many memorable scenes.
@FoxMulder: Same, prob the most memorable moment of the whole film where both sides just stop and stare in that whole cut. Well, that and seeing LCD adverts on the side of the buses, heh.
I remember not liking this movie.. I need to watch it again though, it seems like something I should have loved.
Looks damn amazing. Too bad I don't really have time to watch films at the moment, but this will make my list of films I have to watch ASAP.
One of my all time favorite movies. You just don't see many movies that make as much of an impact as Children of Men made.
One of my favorite movies. I was totally enthralled from the long opening shot to the very end. Love it. Totally deserving of the Besties honor.
I think I was a victim of the hype for this film, not seeing it until after it came out on home video.
Oh, and I thought Michael Caine's hippy was silly.
Couldn't agree more - a stunning film with a heart like a boulder. A real must see.
One of my favorite movies of all time. Seriously.
I've been meaning to see this movie for years. I don't know why that keeps getting pushed back,
it's an underrated modern masterpiece, fantastic performances by Clive Owen and Micheal Cain, as well as Julianne Moore. i like the way it sets the table by introducing the audience to a world which has no clue as to how it got to the state it's in. i reckon the film also plays on the legendary British reserve, their calmness for things when shit hit's the fan while the rest of the world panics. it also show's the lengths a man with out faith is willing to go to get that one flicker of hope. it's a beautiful film with elements that are more then philosophical and should have got more recognition then it originally did.
I wish you hadn't spoiled that cafe explosion, it's such a surprise when it happens and sets a great tone for the film. But I'm glad to see this movie get praise, I loved it when I saw it and enjoy the setting they employ. It's a Britain shut down into a military police state but it feels like something that could actually happen, just enough flavor of our own reality mixed into the dystopia that leaves a wonderfully bad taste in your mouth.
I guess I'm gonna be that guy, but man, I LOATHED Children of Men. I can understand why someone would absolutely love it, but I found the movie was dull, one-dimensional, and worst of all, it felt self-important because of the supposed "children are our future" message that it beat into our heads over & over & over again.
I'm the only person I know who actively hates this film, so I'm sure that I'll be alone here. (Lovely video nonetheless! Loving the reminders of the film's awesome cinematography.)
I love this movie, you know you've just seen a good movie, when you discuss it with your friends for a couple hours afterwards.
