I love this movie too.

Dark twist there in the end. Good one.

I too enjoyed this movie very much. I'm glad it's a bestie.

The big questions is will the TV series end up ruining the film?

Knetic2341on Nov. 2, 2011 at 11:21 a.m.

Definitely a bestie! Really good movie.

Amon Amarth should see this movie and write an album about it.

Zidane_24on Nov. 2, 2011 at 11:27 a.m.

"Lie-low and Stitch"? Come on, Rorie.

Other than that, glad this movie made it into the hall.

I have it on my Sky+ and should get around to watching it soon since I've heard great things about it and looks great from what I've seen here.

I just got HBO a few weeks ago, and this was the first movie I DVR'd. Haven't watched it yet. Definitely going to either tonight or this weekend.

I fucking love this movie.

Well done to HD Joey on that ending.

I have a nit to pick with this film, and that nit is Jay Baruchel. He's merely competent in a role that called for more, and I can't stand it when a merely OK voice ends up in a lead role given the relatively healthy amount of voice talent in this country. Props to Gerry Butler and Craigy Ferg, they were quite solid and enjoyable. But what the hell kind of logic was behind Baruchel?

DostoyevskysShamblingCorpseon Nov. 2, 2011 at 12:15 p.m.

Jay Baruchel's annoying voice almost ruins this movie.

As much as Rorie's intentional mispronunciations ruin these videos.

I love this movie as well. That dragon totally reminds me of my cat.

@endaround: There's a TV series? If so, it won't have any impact on the film itself. The TV show is just a cash-in on the success of the movie. There's nothing wrong with that.

Also has one of my favourite movie scores of recent memory.

Cool_Hand_Lukeon Nov. 2, 2011 at 12:44 p.m.

The most recently released bestie I think? And well earned.

Now for the sequel, Huccup: Dragon Hunter. Tre.

It's got to be one of my favorite father-son relationships in any animated movie ever. The typical awkward kid/ultra-masculine father dynamic has become such a cliche. And this is not that. Stoic isn't simply disappointed or embarrassed he has a wimpy yet inventive son. Instead it's a much more complicated and realistic relationship. Stoic's just trying to protect Hiccup, even if it's from himself. It makes for an interesting relationship, I think.

GREAT movie. Saw it at the Spark Animation festival with the creators talking about what it originally was going to be.... umm... they made a smarter direction by making this.
MrMazzon Nov. 2, 2011 at 1:31 p.m.

O man was I surprised that this movie didn't suck. I'm glad it didn't becasue for once a animated movie that wasn't from Pixar was great.

AaronGon Nov. 2, 2011 at 1:32 p.m.

I loved this movie. I think this is one of Dreamworks best movies.

Vorbison Nov. 2, 2011 at 1:37 p.m.

Really loved this movie, more than a lot of Pixars recent ones. Sad thing is I probably would of passed on it had it not been for Rories praise.
