LOVE this film.
Oh wow, screened got the makeover!
Gotta love Ronin
Did Rorie just tell me to watch this video at the end of this video?
So Rorie,
To give an amazing recommendation! Hopefully its on Netflix streaming.
A (hopefully not too snarky-sounding) question: When you cover objectively great movies like this, is that easier or harder than covering films for Half-Good or Defending Your Movie? With the latter two, I feel you have more to say about the movies (generally both why it's good and why it's bad), but that it probably takes more work putting the video together as a result.
I like Besties though, so don't misunderstand. Out of everything on the site (besides maybe Tom Pinchuk's "Welcome to Weird" series), it's the best source for movie recommendations.
Fuck I love this movie so much, just watching it like this makes me want to watch it again and again... and AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN.
Also the unconventional ending was an added bonus as well. Great movie, only saw it recently. I missed the first five minutes but the rest of the film was so spellbinding I had to keep watch. "DRAW IT AGAIN."
RONIN is bad-ass. Frankenheimer's direction is so sharp. Although the shocking battle of 'oirish' accents between McElhone and Jonathan Pryce is kind of painful.
I actually read the original script and it was far more generic and unfocused. Mamet's rewrite tightened it up, threw out some unnecessary subplots and, of course, brought his awesome dialogue to it.
Great movie.
Never have seen it, but if it's on the level of the first Mission Impossible, I am in. Jean Reno is in both. Love him in MI
The wiki page for this movie is probably my best contribution to the site, if I do say so myself.
HELL YEA, two epic car chase scenes and suspense. Great flick.
Good film.
