Spideyman

I can agree with this.

I really liked Spidey-2 as a kid, but as soon as I saw the original Superman movie, the childish humor and faux-depth of this movie went right out the window. I guess now I'd put Superman and Thor at the top of my list, not sure which is best.

I really liked this movie, haven't seen it in years. A pity the third one was trash :|

Rorie makes this movie sound a lot more like a good candidate for a "half-good" rather then a Bestie

Eh, sure, I guess. I've never been a particular fan of the Spider-Man movies, partly because of the cast. They just strike me as generic-ass superhero movies. Then again, I liked X2 and there's very little distinction in tone and content with those two movie franchises. Maybe it's mostly the cast, then.

I did note how similar this movie was to Superman 2 back when it came out. Specifically the whole arc where the hero gives up being the hero just as trouble appears out of nowhere. Maybe Andrew Garfield will end up fighting Nuclear Man in this new one.

Spider-Man 2 is one of the best superhero movies. I'm just putting that out there.

I always liked the original better for some reason. Maybe I'm a sucker for origin stories.

The only thing I'll ever remember from this movie is the face Tobey McGuire makes when he's trying to stop the train.

And it looks like Joey liked that part too.

@FinalDasa: It is because of Dafoe.

This is my favorite Spider-Man movie but I will be happy if the new one changes that.

I hate this movie. It's melodramatic, poorly written and everything about it feels like the people behind simply settled for "eh, that will do". Literally cannot believe this counts as a bestie. I would gladly watch any of the Defending Your Movies or Half-Goods over this any day. I am actually stunned by how far this veers from the normal editorial stance of Screened. I guess there have to exceptions but I am struggling to think what other movie would annoy me more for entry into the Besties. Maybe Spider-Man 3, but I don't remember it being as aggressively bad as 2.

this video made it sound more like a "Half-Good" entry

Chroziumon Feb. 16, 2012 at 12:42 p.m.

Why does Rorie dress like a supervillain?

AuthenticMon Feb. 16, 2012 at 12:49 p.m.

the only good spider-man movie, as far as I'm concerned.

ChiliPalmeron Feb. 16, 2012 at 12:50 p.m.
This movie's pretty good, but a Bestie? Ehhhhhh, if you say so...
CharlesAlanRatliffon Feb. 16, 2012 at 12:51 p.m.

Nice choice! I love this movie.

Great editing as always.

The romance is almost as bad as the Star Wars prequel romance, caused me to never see the third.

ZombieHobbiton Feb. 16, 2012 at 1:06 p.m.

Toby is an amazing actor.
