A classic horror movie noted for its shoestring budget, its "unique" camera use and its irritating advertising campaign of hazy facts and straight out lies.

Hated the last half hour where you couldn't see shit and there was just never ending screaming that annoyed the hell out of me. Up until then, though, it was an effective freak out movie.

A great addition to the Besties!

I remember my brother bringing this home on a blank VHS tape and putting it on for me & some friends. My friends didn't want to walk home alone after since we watched this late at night!

PS- The sequel is garbage!

I've always had a lot of love for this. Still scares the hell out of me.

This and Paranormal activities are like the three scariest movies to me horror movies are about sound cover your ears and watch someone have bad stuff happen to them much easier than covering your eyes and seeing it.

nice shirt Rorie

Saw this in theaters when I was 13 with my father, didn't sleep at all that night

I was 13 when this movie came out and it scared me and my friends pretty good. I remember after seeing the move we would go outside at night in the woods around my house and relive the movie moments just to get the scary feelings that the movie made.

And the My Peeps shirt is so damn good.

The fact that you featured this film in a Besties as opposed to in a Defend Your Movie is bold and awesome.

This was, oddly enough, the movie I went to my first date on. Memories

I like @Rorie's tight, TIGHT, T shirt.

Since every ones tellin'  their age, I was 19 when this movie came out. I thought it was absolute horse shit..
I'm one of the ppl Rorie's was talkin bout who were like, "Wtf? You gotta SHOW me some shit! I just watched Darth Maul and retarded ass Jar Jar Binks and this movie is the 'next big thing?'" Anyway it is a pretty good concept to scare people with the sounds and atmosphere and it obviously worked, but I still have NO love for this movie whats so ever.

This view is also shared with Paranormal Activity..after all the hype, I was compelled to go see it at my local theater. I was the only ass that night that demanded my money back, and you know what? I did :)

But alas, who cares what I think.....

@_chapel_: Sounds like you have a pretty shitty imagination then. These kinds of movies are only as good as you allow them to be. If you can't let your mind go wild with what happening then you obviously will hate it. I understand why you don't like it, but all I do is feel bad that you couldn't enjoy it.

This movie scared the shit out of me, just watching this video is bringing back those same fears I had after I watched this. Hell I am picturing what I thought the witch looked like when I first saw this now, and I am a bit creeped out to say the least. Glad this movie made it into the besties.

@SSully: I guess so, but having seen an ass ton of movies up until I seen Blair, I knew the gimmick  they were using and was just not interested.
Korneon July 13, 2011 at 8:57 p.m.
I have to say, I have never liked this movie. I have enjoyed a lot of found-footage films since this movie, but never cared for the atmosphere created in The Blair Witch Project.
