Dig Deeper into The Thing

A shape-shifting alien terrorizes a group of scientists in the Antarctic, forcing them into a paranoid state when they realize it could be any one of them. With seemingly no chance of escape and from fear of letting The Thing spread, none of them can leave the remote station.

Sweet. One of my all-time favourite movies. Thank you Alex for doing this movie justice.

Yeah The Thing is so incredible. I love Carpenter's style and I think he reached his pinnacle on this one. And goddamn those effects are so awesomely gross.

Hell yes, in my experience no other horror film matches up to this.

How many horror films have Kurt Russell and Keith David anyway?

Kratchon Oct. 10, 2011 at 11:20 a.m.

One of my favorite movies ever. It has one of the best endings, the best special fx, the best actors, the best monsters, and on and on and on...

xhugglesxon Oct. 10, 2011 at 11:20 a.m.

No discussion of the thing is complete without this.

MrPilkingtonon Oct. 10, 2011 at 11:20 a.m.

I remember seeing this movie for the first time when I was, like, 10. I still have nightmares.

gelatinabominationon Oct. 10, 2011 at 11:20 a.m.

In all seriousness, though, this is my favorite horror film, and my second favorite film ever (second only to Brick). The effects are disgusting, the writing is sharp, and Kurt Russell with a cowboy hat and Chuck Norris beard in the FUCKING ANTARCTIC is just too awesome to deny.

Hairydutchmanon Oct. 10, 2011 at 11:23 a.m.

Best horror film ever made imo

And I love my horror films

Watching this made me even more excited for the prequel. If they nail it, it could be something really great.

cronus42on Oct. 10, 2011 at 11:25 a.m.

The scene with the thing kneeling in the snow and screaming still freaks me out.

Mal53on Oct. 10, 2011 at 11:28 a.m.

Excellent choice for a besties. Great movie.

This reminds me that I would love a "Navarros Nightmares" as a feature (or a premium off the go feature)

NoeinJon Oct. 10, 2011 at 11:37 a.m.

Such great effects, great actors, great music, one of the best movies ever made. Also Kurt Russel is awesome!

GeekDownon Oct. 10, 2011 at 11:38 a.m.

The Thing is one of my top 3 favorite movies. I watch it several times every year and it just never gets old to me.
