• Abigail Whistler was created for this film as a last-minute replacement for Rachel Van Helsing, an established vampire hunter character in the Marvel Comics. But when it become common knowledge that a movie known as Van Helsing starring Hugh Jackman was being filmed and would be released before Blade: Trinity, the film makers decided it might be too confusing to have a character with the same name in their film.
