This little gem is currently being retweeted around Twitter. I'm feeling a strange combination of Braveheart, Boudica, Princess Mononoke & a hint of How To Train Your Dragon... But I trust Pixar to create something original & brilliant.

I wonder if the movie will look as "detailed". If so, that's a very different look than the one I think about when I think of Pixar. Everything is usually kind of smooth and clean. This looks a bit more rugged. Either way, it's Pixar, so it'll most likely be really good.

@myketuna: That's precisely the first thought that came into my head when I saw this. The poster seems to suggest a different direction for Pixar, at least in the art style. Does this film even have anthropomorphic characters in it? As far as I know it's all humans.

Yeah, the art style in this poster looks very different from other Pixar movies. I'm interested to see where they go with this.

Looks lime Pixar is going down a darker route with this film. I don't know what that will be like but since it's Pixar I know it will be good.

I can understand the other influences based on the poster alone, but Princess Mononoke is something I fail to see. Whatever this may be, I am interested as everyone else is, of this perhaps new direction Pixar is taking.

The only thing its reminding me of is Secret of Kells, and only because I can count Irish folk tale animated films on a single hand. And yes, any Pixar film that isn't "the secret life of _____" has me 1000% more interested. I really don't care what _____ is up to when humans aren't around or aren't looking, anymore. Its just so played out and they're kind of above that shit now.

Brave warrior woman in the midst of nature?

Either way, looks interesting.

Can anyone spot any easter eggs in the artwork?

Nope... why, can you?
Trailer 3: Brave

This extended clip from Brave shows that girls can both be princesses AND perform physical activities well! I never would've guessed!

Trailer 2: Brave

Whale Rider meets Braveheart in this curious-looking next film from Pixar. Oh, and kilt jokes.

Teaser Trailer: Brave

A short glimpse of Pixar's Summer 2012 Scottish-themed film. They probably had to fight Mike Myers off with a stick while making this.
