Breaking Bad fifth season could span two years at up to 20 eps

remember all that hubbub with AMC ruffling feathers by looking to bend its programming around Mad Men, at possibly the cost of shows deserving the funds? shows like Breaking Bad? seems like any worry of the series seeing an impromptu ending shouldn't be of any concern, according to Deadline Hollywood. as well, AMC got the point and decided to man up for the good of the show

Breaking Bad will return to AMC for what is expected to be its final chapter. Creator Vince Gilligan had made it clear that he wants to end the series after Season 5. I've learned that AMC has an offer on the table for a standard 13-episode fifth season but Sony is looking for more. People close to the matter expect the final deal to be for 13-20 episodes, possibly spread over 2 seasons.

by that i mean to say, strap it on and get ready for a proper ending to a show that actually deserves it. oh and pick up all those seasons in stores to help get that point across

We need to see what happens in the rest of season 4 to see if 20 is enough, or possibly too much, but at least the show is safe.

well considering how the main character has cancer there, it only makes sense that eventually the tv show has to end (cuz i guess hell have to die unless they think of another ending)

@Pickle: do you really think that this show has any sign of losing steam after all it's done?

If its spread over 2 seasons, how is it still the same season? Whatevs.
Okay, its a single 20 ep season over 2 seasons. No, its not 2 10 episode seasons. Legalese gives me a headache.

What the show has done is giving Walter enough money that he never needs to make meth anymore and a cancer in remission. After Gus is dead, there's no bullshit-free way to get him back into the lab. The only thing left is Walt getting found out by Hank. I don't want this show to turn into a pale copycat of its better seasons like Dexter did for season 5. If they have a good out, they should take it so the show never suffers.

All shows get worse as they progress. I wouldn't say season 3 was worse than season 1 (in many ways it's better) but so far season 4 hasn't impressed me.

This deal reminds me of the LOST deal that happened during the middle of the third season.

I only watched the first episode. Wasn't he only supposed to live like, 2 years?
