What more need be said? This Sunday marks the return of Breaking Bad to the television airwaves. If you're not even remotely interested in picking up where season three breathtakingly left off, you are a bad person, and you don't enjoy quality television. None of this, "everyone has an opinion" nonsense. You. Are. WRONG.
In addition to one of the more anticipated premieres of the year, we have a major finale in the final episode of Friday Night Lights, plus new episodes of a few biggies. Let's get onto it, shall we?
| Friday Night Lights Friday at 8PM - NBC - Cue "It's Been a Long Road" and bring out the retirement cake, 'cause FNL is officially done. Show's been largely great its whole run through, and while I'm sad to see it go, I think it's probably time. Most shows don't even get one great season, let alone five. | |
| Real Time with Bill Maher Friday at 10PM - HBO - The great Marc Maron, host of the WTF podcast is tonight's main guest. Maron's a great host, so it'll be fun to see how him and Maher riff on one another, even if the politics stuff is entirely boring to you. | |
| 3. Torchwood Friday at 10PM - Starz - All accounts of the first episode seem to point to something pretty good here. I guess the cheesier elements of the show have been dialed down in favor of the more series sci-fi drama. This means my girlfriend will probably hate it, but I'll dig it. | |
| Breaking Bad Sunday at 10PM - AMC - It's insane to me that it's been over a year since this show last debuted on television. I think I just got so used to the idea of it NOT being on the air, that I forgot what it was like to even anticipate this show's arrival. Been catching up on older episodes over the last year, and I'm fully ready for this season. Do your worst, Bryan Cranston! | |
| True Blood Sunday at 9PM - HBO - The vampires continue doing vampire things. I dunno, I think I have to stop listing this show. I have no patience for trying to follow along with what's going on from afar. | |
| Curb Your Enthusiasm Sunday at 10PM - HBO - Last week's premiere was pretty good, though also WAY heavy on Larry being an asshole, vs. Larry just being kind of funny. Curious to see if that will be the tone of the whole season or not. | |
| Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Sunday at 9PM - VH1 - Why do I keep watching this? | |
| Falling Skies Sunday at 10PM - TNT - I am told by those who would know these kinds of things that this show has completely jumped the shark, but it's already been renewed for a second season, so I guess we're stuck with it for a while. |
