Briony Tallis is an aspiring writer who, at the age of thirteen, sends the life Robbie Turner in a completely different direction.
Briony Tallis is shown throughout different stages of her life in Atonement. She is first portrayed by Saoirse Ronan at 13 years old, during the time set at the Tallis household where her actions cause Robbie Turner's life to shoot in a completely different direction than he intended. Romola Garai plays the role of Briony at 18 when she is training as a nurse. Vanessa Redgrave portrays Briony as an old woman, who we last see at the end of the film being interviewed and trying to atone for actions.
