More frog suits, less Hawaiian shirts, but the same amount of chin?

I don’t know if I’m pleased or dismayed that a whole audience (maybe even a whole generation of viewers?) knows Bruce Campbell as one of the dudes on Burn Notice and not as Ash. Either way, seeing the great "Final Shemp" getting his first mainstream starring role in far too many years makes me happy.

Deadline says that USA’s moving ahead with a solo movie about his character, Sam Axe. Bucking conventional thinking, they won't title it the Axe Effect. It’ll be about the dude’s last days as a Navy SEAL in the bygone, halcyon days of ’05. Needless to say, there are going to be plenty of horrifying revelations, soul-searching changes of heart and maybe just a little gun play.

The flick’s shooting in Columbia in January for a premiere in the spring and, crazily enough, Jeffrey Donovan’s directing it. Yeah, the star of Burn Notice. Apparently he did pretty well directing an episode of the show over the summer and, now, he's movin' on up.

USA’s president of original programming's explained that everybody got the idea to do this after they saw that “Bruce Campbell [is] the Bruce Springstreen of Comic Con" and I suppose I can't think of an apter descriptor for the guy. Can you? Go Bruce!

Can never get enough Bruce. Ironically, I just finished watching the whole series of The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. Think I might need to watch some more Evil Dead again.

Come on... the guy can play a washed up ex-SEAL with that gut of his but I really don't think he could pull off being active-duty without hitting the gym. That being said, I will be watching.

My Name is Bruce was pretty awful, here's to hoping Campbell makes something worth watching in the near future (and yes, I'm still holding out for Evil Dead 4).

I dare say I've seen more Bruce than most. Both in movies and on TV. I bought and read his autobiography. However, I have yet to watch a single episode of Burn Notice. I'm beginning to feel as I've had enough of old Brucie boy. I'm happy that things are going his way now, but I'll be sticking to his older works.

His biography, one of the great books. Well worth the money.

I have no clue if this movie will be good but as a recent Burn Notice fan I will probably watch it anyway.

His chin will kill, and then he'll make love the Sam Axe way.

I'm 18 and I know him better as Ash Williams than any other character he's ever done.

If Burn Notice never existed, its cast would have been perfect for the leads in the Uncharted movie.
Even with Burn Notice I would cast Bruce as Sully. Yep.
