Heat Vision reports that Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver are set to star in the upcoming The Cold Light of Day. The film, also starring Henry Cavill of The Tudors, will be directed by JCVD's Mabrouk El Mechri and written by Scott Wiper and John Petro.

The film follows the story of a stock trader whose family is kidnapped while vacationing in Spain. He then needs to dissect a government plot involving his father (played by Willis) to get his family back from the kidnapping mastermind, played by Weaver..

Filming begins September 6th in Spain.

Not much substance yet on what to expect, but I really like the idea of Sigourney Weaver playing the villain here. She's sort of been given a lack of meaty roles to sink her considerable acting teeth into, so I hope this script will deliver. Willis is always bankable, but wouldn't it be rad to finally see a movie with him in it and say "Man, that Bruce Willis movie was so fucking good!" again?

I was interested when Willis was attached, and profoundly excited when I saw that Weaver is the villain.  Most badass chick every to grace the screen.

Sigh, another Willis action film. Did he say he was going to quit making action films because of some Columbine-eqsue incident some years ago?

It's hard not to be a Bruce Willis fan, but only one film in three or four is better than average. However, adding in Sigourney, who is nearly always excellent, and you might have something.

The whole nine yards kinda killed Bruce Willis for me. There was a fleeting moment after Sin City came out where I thought my Willis love had returned, but when actually putting some thought into why I enjoyed him in that film so much I just came back to the conclusions that Willis is really just a one trick pony.

It's good he still gets roles though.

What?  A well-known trick is to say what you've written out loud.  You'll get a better sense of whether or not it makes any sense.  When I tried that with this plot synopsis, it sounded fucking retarded.

Interesting combo of actors, and a kidnapping plot is always fun I think :)

I didn't mean that I thought that your writing was retarded.  It's that the actual plot sounds retarded.
