Buffy the Vampire Slayer Episodes

The unaired pilot has a few differences from the actual pilot. For instance, Riff Regan plays Willow but was later replaced by Alyson Hannigan. The entire episode was funded out of pocket by Joss Whedon and was used to promote the show to a network.

Part one of the two-part series premiere written by series creator Joss Whedon. Buffy, having just moved schools to Sunnydale High School, hopes to leave her troubles behind and start anew. However, her duties as this generation's Slayer, and pestering from the new school librarian are not making this easy. We also see that The Master is threatening to break free of his underground prison.

Part two of the two part series premiere written by Joss Whedon. The story continues from "Welcome to the Hellmouth" as Buffy and friends try to save Jesse's life.

"Witch" is the first regular episode of the series after the Pilot. Buffy tries out for the Sunnydale Cheerleading Squad in an attempt at normalcy. Things go awry when a witch appears to be tampering with the other girls that are trying out.

Buffy and the "Scooby Gang" try to solve the mystery of the death of their old Biology teacher, and a cryptic warning given by Angel.

Buffy finally gets a date. Her plans are thwarted when she has to stop the rise of "The Anointed One" who is said to "lead the Slayer into hell."

After a field trip to the zoo, Xander and four other students act oddly after visiting the quarantined hyena enclosure. It's up to Buffy and the other Scooby Gang members to find out what is causing their strange behavior.

After coming to terms with her feelings for him, Buffy makes a shocking discovery about the mysterious Angel that complicates things greatly. Meanwhile Darla continues to manipulate Buffy into the hands of The Master.

After five centuries of imprisonment, Moloch the Corrupter, has been freed. Willow starts an online relationship with a mysterious "Malcolm" which causes her to act very differently.

While looking through auditions for the talent show, Giles comes across a mysterious dummy. Meanwhile the Scooby Gang is investigating pupil's organs going missing.

The Scooby Gang are forced to live their worst nightmares while they try to uncover why this is happening.

An invisible entity is attacking student's at Sunnydale High School, specifically Cordelia. While Buffy gets to the bottom of the problem, she and Cordelia grow closer.

In this season finale of the first season, Buffy must confront The Master and prevent him from rising to power despite the prophecy stating that she will die at his hands.

After returning to Sunnydale from a vacation spent with her father, Buffy finds out that her nightmare isn't over yet. The Anointed One is trying to resurrect The Master by performing a revivification spell.

After body parts of dead girls start showing up around Sunnydale, Buffy and her friends start investigating. At the same time Buffy is frustrated with Angel, Willow confesses her love for Xander to Buffy and the romance between Giles and Ms. Calendar starts to develop.

Principal Snyder forces Buffy to be responsible for the parent-teacher night at the school. As if that wasn't bad enough, two infamous vampires, Spike and Drusilla, come to Sunnydale with one goal in mind: killing the Slayer.

An ancient Inca mummy wakes up at a museum and takes the place of Buffy's exchange student to live the life she never had. Xander starts to develop feelings for her, but unfortunately the only way she can stay alive is by taking the lives of others.

Buffy is angry when Angel is refusing to go on a date with her and Giles is pressuring her to train all the time, so she decides to defy them both by going to a fraternity party with Cordelia where things quickly turn bad.

Principal Snyder forces the gang to chaperone children while they trick-or-treat. Costumes are mandatory and everyone buys them from Ethan's Costume Shop. It turns out that Ethan worships chaos and transforms everyone to whatever they were dressed as. Spike joins the party and we see a new side of Giles.

An old friend off Buffy shows up, as Spike and Drusilla start a plan to kill Buffy.

An old friend of Giles comes to Sunnydale, only to die. This seems to have something to do with Giles' past when Ethan Rayne shows up again.

When Buffy interferes with Spike's plans he decides to call in the Order of Taraka, a group of legendary assassins, to kill her.

Kendra turns out to be a new Slayer. Spike tries to restore Drusilla to full strength by sacrificing Angel. After putting their differences behind them, the two Slayers try to stop him.

Joyce has a new boyfriend Ted, and Buffy can't stand him. He treats her badly, but nobody believes her. After she catches him reading her diary, a fight breaks out and she accidentally kills him.

A health class assignment has the students each taking care of an egg as a parenting exercise. These eggs turn out to be quite abnormal and soon the whole school is in danger.

It's Buffy's birthday and her friends decide to throw her a surprise party. But like always evil is brewing in Sunnydale and the party is short lived when she discovers that the whole world is in danger.

Angel loses his soul after making love to Buffy. The only thing the born again Angelus wants to do is to torment the person who made him feel like a human - Buffy.

Cordelia and Xander are attacked by a werewolf. Since werewolves are human all but three nights a month Buffy tries to capture it alive, but a hardline werewolf hunter Cain shows up with a different idea.

After Cordelia dumps him on Valentines Day, Xander blackmails Amy to concoct a love spell for him. Things don't go according to plan and soon the whole of Sunnydale is in chaos.

Angelus continues tormenting Buffy and her loved ones and this time he succeeds with devastating effect.

Buffy gets sick and has to go to the hospital. While there she notices that something demonic is after the children which is also connected to Buffy's own childhood.

Two ghosts possess students at Sunnydale High including Buffy and Angelus.

After people of the swim team begin to show up dead, Buffy and the gang understands that there is something fishy going on. Xander goes undercover as a swimmer.

Angelus starts his apocalyptic plan to suck the world into Hell by using a demon Acathla. While we see this plan unraveling we also learn a lot about Angelus' past via flashbacks and an old friend comes to help Buffy.

Things are looking worse every moment: Kendra is dead, the police are after Buffy, Willow is in a coma and Giles is being tortured by Angelus. Still, Buffy might be able to stop Angelus with an unlikely alliance, but at what cost?

After having sent Angel to hell to save the world, Buffy has run away and is working as a waitress in Los Angeles. But Los Angeles is not without its own demons, as Buffy soon finds out.

Buffy returns to Sunnydale and realizes everyone is upset with her leaving. Meanwhile Joyce finds herself in possession of an ancient mask.

There is a new Slayer in town and she has a completely different outlook on the Slaying gig than Buffy has.

Brutal murders are happening in Sunnydale and on the suspect list are Oz as well as a magically returned Angel.

Fierce competition between Cordelia and Buffy erupts when they both decide to lobby for the crown of the homecoming Queen. The gang decides that this has to end and try to force them to talk, but instead of talking they have to fight for their lives.

Sunnydale is in chaos when all the adults start to act like teenagers and Buffy has to find out why.

The gang finds out that Angel is back and Faith gets a new watcher while a powerful demon is searching for a dangerous glove. Confusion breaks out when everyone has their own ideas about who the good and bad guys are.

Spike makes his unwanted return to Sunnydale. Heartbroken because Drusilla has left him he starts causing drunken trouble with his fists as well as his words.

Cordelia finds out that you shouldn't state wishes to strangers. One of hers come true and changes the face of Sunnydale and all of its inhabitants.

Angel is being haunted by his past and driven to extreme actions while Buffy is desperately trying to help, but it seems that only a miracle can salvage the situation.

The people of Sunnydale are in shock when the bodies of two murdered children are found from the local playground. The bodies show signs of ritualistic sacrifice and the local wiccans are being targeted in a wild witch hunt.

Buffy is mysteriously losing her powers which leads to new struggles as the evil in Sunnydale continues business as usual.

The apocalypse is coming and the gang is busy at work on stopping it, except Xander who has troubles of his own.

Buffy is starting to understand Faith's way of slaying until an accident causes a turning point in their relationship.

Buffy is feeling guilty about the death of Finch, but Faith seems completely impervious to any feelings of remorse.

Anya, the former vengeance demon, is trying to get back her powers with the help of a misled Willow and dark magics, the end result being confusing for everyone.

The Mayor and Faith are trying to steal Angel's soul by any means necessary.

While killing a demon, Buffy gets infected by its blood and is deemed to have inherited an aspect of the demon.

An impatient Buffy wants to bring the fight to the Mayor and steals an important artifact from him. At the same time Faith steals something even more important from Buffy.

Angel realizes that there is no future for his relationship with Buffy and breaks up with her. Although heartbroken, Buffy still has to fight the evil threatening Sunnydale High's senior prom.

The Mayor is preparing for the Ascension and as a distraction, Faith poisons Angel. Buffy has to make some hard decisions to save Angel and the world.

Faith is dealt with but Angel is still dying. Can Buffy save him, stop the Mayor's Ascension and still graduate from high school in one day?

It's Buffy's first day of college and her life is transforming. She feels isolated and a campus vampire is giving her bigger trouble than it should be able to.

Buffy is not getting along with her roommate Kathy at all. Things start to escalate and the gang begin to fear that Buffy is seriously losing it.

Spike comes back to town and is after a jewel that would make him invincible. Harmony also makes her comeback and Parker shows what kind of guy he really is.

A Halloween fraternity party gets a bit too real when a demon feeding on fear is accidentally summoned.

Buffy is still mourning over Parker and ends up trying to drown it in beer, which as usual in Sunnydale is not your standard brew.

Oz breaks out of his cage and meets another werewolf that has a different outlook to the werewolf lifestyle and the consequences are tremendous.

Spike wakes up in a strange facility. He escapes and is more motivated than ever to take down the Slayer.

Xander accidentally awakens a vengeful native American spirit on Thanksgiving. Angel comes back to town to help Buffy and a newly neutered Spike comes to Buffy for help.

Still heartbroken over Oz, Willow performs a spell that makes her wishes come true and unknowingly puts her friends in a dangerous and awkward situation.

A strange group of fairytale monsters called The Gentlemen come to Sunnydale and steal the voices of everyone.

There is an earthquake in Sunnydale which signifies yet another approaching apocalypse.

Giles feels left out and ends up drinking with Ethan Rayne who turns him into a demon.

Buffy joins The Initiative only to find out that she is not really welcome and doubt about the organization's motives spread to Riley too.

Buffy finds out what The Initiative has been up to. Adam is loose and dangerous while Riley is suffering from drug withdrawal and the crumbling of all of his beliefs.

While the gang makes plans for Adam, Faith wakes up from her coma and is out for revenge.

Faith starts her new life in Buffy's body while Buffy herself is captured by the Watchers' Council thinking she is Faith.

Jonathan is a superstar. He has a best-selling novel, he created the internet, he fights the forces of evil better than The Slayer, he sings and he plays... but something just isn't right.

Buffy and Riley are having sex a lot and accidentally awaken angry manifestations of children who were abused there. The gang has to save them before the spirits drain the life out of them.

Oz returns to Sunnydale after making discoveries about his wolf-self. He is confronted with Willow's new life which brings old problems back to the surface.

Adam promises to remove the chip from Spike's head if he helps him break apart the gang. Angel's surprise visit doesn't make the situation any easier.

The gang realizes that Spike has intentionally drove them apart and start working on a plan to stop Adam's destructive scheme to create a new race of cyborg monsters.

The consequences of their spell used to defeat Adam become apparent. A strange creature is trying to kill them in their dreams built by their subconscious and include extensive hints about the future... and cheese for some reason.

Buffy and the gang faces the infamous Count Dracula. He is not a normal vampire as he has incredible powers of mind control, shape-shifting and a powerful influence over others.
