Carmela Soprano

Carmela Soprano, formerly Carmela DeAngelis, is married to Tony Soprano and is the mother of Anthony Jr. and Meadow Soprano. Carmela and Tony when they were in high school and the two married at some point after graduation, although they were apparently still fairly young. Carmela attended Montclair State University for a time, but she never graduated and it is unclear exactly why she never finished her education. Carmela tries to be a loving and supporting mother to her children. Unfortunately, her relationship with Tony has had many ups and downs. Carmela constantly struggles with feelings of guilt about how her husband makes a living. She has also had issues with Tony's mother, who she believes is responsible for a majority of the issues found in her children. Carmela is a devout Catholic and constantly attempts to push these values onto Tony. Although she has tempted to cheat and Tony, she has been faithful. Carmela also considered seeking a divorce, but the two were able to reconcile. She is also best friends with Rosalie Aprile, Jackie Aprile's widow.

Carmela is also cousins with Christopher Moltisanti.
