From 50's hot rod flicks to 70's road movies, cinema has had a big fascination with cars. What sets "carsploitation" from anything else is that while these movies do often contain car chases, their plots revolve around cars, and do not merely feature them. The closest thing to a modern carsploitation film is the Fast and the Furious series.
