For all those loves of trivia, random people on New York streets, and Ben Bailey, I have some bad news. Cash Cab, the trivia game show that all happens in the back of a NYC taxi cab, has been cancelled. Link.

It's been 6 seasons and over 200 episodes for the show so by no means is it a failure. Just a strange decision by Discovery who I can only assume will take the cash for producing Cash Cab and put it into a show where guys steal things from elderly folks and sell them in pawn shops while they tow away random cars on the street.

Seems like a shame to me because you don't see too many trivia based game shows on anymore and Cash Cab certainly had an interesting concept.

No! I love Cash Cab! Although I also love shows where people sell things in pawn shops and bid on storage units.

"This may take a while."

I know they debuted a Chicago version of Cash Cab awhile back. I assume that was already gone before this one too or is it still around?

Damn, I loved this show. I don't normally like game shows but I really liked this one, I think mainly because it wasn't on a set and didn't feel overproduced.

I used to watch Cash Cab on the regular, my favorite was one time these two girls got on in a terrible rain storm, neither had an umbrella. They proceeded to get the first 3 questions wrong (you know, the extra easy warm up ones), Ben Bailey was super supportive of them "good luck on the next one" and "I'm soo sorry I have to kick you out" but after they left he turned to the camera, shook his head and said something to the effect of "I'm not really sorry, how can....*sigh* nevermind"

I've seen a bit of Ben Bailey's recent stand-up, and I'm pretty sure he's just ready to move on with his career.  Excited to see what he does next.

Well, 200 episodes is plenty, but Cash Cab was an amazing show. Made all the greater by the hilarious Ben Bailey. I hope that dude can find another good hosting gig. Tons of charisma without any of that plasticy "Seacrest-ness".

Gotta say, though, that my interest really waned after learning how (sort-of) phony the whole set-up was.

@gangly: I agree. It lost its luster after that but I still enjoyed it every now and then to test my trivia knowledge. It wasn't as hard as say Jeopardy but it was still fun.
