Computer-Generated Imagery (CGI) is the application of computer graphics effects added onto a movie used to visually represent a fictional object, event or character.

First Movie with CGI:  Westworld 
First Movie with Morphing (using CGI to achieve a smooth transition between two images):  Willow 
First CGI Water:  The Abyss 
First CGI Animal:  Jurassic Park (also considered the film with the first truly lifelike CGI)   
First CGI Animal with Hair (which is far harder to animate):  Jumanji 
First Fully CGI Movie:  Toy Story  
First "Hyper-Realistic Motion Capture" CGI Character:  Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (Gollum)
