Charles Westmoreland was married and had a little daughter. But he led a double life, he was also known as "DB Cooper" a famous airplane hijacker. His most notable and last stunt was to steal $5'000.000 and jump from an airplane, he was never caught for this, and the government in order to not alter the general population said that only one million was stolen.

Ironically he was caught by other crimes and not for the hijack, he recieved a large sentence for charges in vehicular stealing, reckless homicide and other stuff. His wife died soon after he got into prison, leaving his daughter all alone.

Meeting Michael.

When Michael Scofield got into Fox River he tried to convince Westmoreland to come clean about him being DB Cooper and tried to get him into the escape crew in order to have money when they get out, but Westmoreland kept on saying he wasn't DB Cooper and that he had managed to stay out of trouble for over 30 years and was planning on staying that way.

He helped Michael several times giving him hints to avoid the system, like what he could do when he was about to be transfered

He first got involved with the escaping crew when he was witness to T-Bag killing a security guard, he didn't told Bellick who was the one to kill the guard in order to protect himself, also he was aware of Michael's plans and didn't wanted them to be foiled. Bellick that felt betrayed by Westmoreland killed Marylin. Marylin was Westmoreland's cat, that had kept him company for years now, Westmoreland in a stroke of rage decided to help Michael, and started a fire in a place that was key to the escape, the crew needed to get there so they could dig and get to complete the plan.

What finally made Westmoreland decide to join the escape crew was when he got the news that his daughter was dying and he won't get permission to see her until her funeral. He approached Michael and explained his situation, he also proved him that he was in fact DB Cooper and that his money would prove helpful in the escape.

When Tweener told Bellick about the escaping plan, he went crazy and found the hole in the burned room, Westmoreland that was around was lucky enough to find Bellick before he could do anything, after a fight Westmoreland was able to subdue Bellick and tie his hand and feet and tape his mouth, but sadly was injured by a glass in his stomach, he kept this as a secret so he won't be left behind in the escape for being in the infirmary or something.

When the crew was about to escape he couldn't keep up and died for loss of blood just when they were about to get out. Before he was finally gone he revealed to Michael the exact location of the 5 million dollars of DB Coopers' hijack.
