Can Domino Squad face the harsh clone training to become the next great squad among the clone trooper ranks?
To be considered an elite clonetrooper in the Republic army you can't just be created, you must also be trained. Domino squad is one of those groups of clones trying to ace their final exercise before they can be promoted to full clonetroopers. They must cooperate to climb a well defended post in order to place a beacon at the very top of it. The team isn't working well together however and their instructors, which includes a hired bounty hunter and Jedi Master Shaak Ti, notice their inabillity to work with one another and its suggested that they should be failed and turned into maintenance clones.
Domino Squad does fail the exercise while arguing about how exactly they should go about the exercise. They return to their barracks with an argument between the orders they are given and the realities of the situations of war which leads to infighting. The following day, with elite ARC Troopers present for the new batch of clones graduation, the real test begins for the potential clonetrooper squads.
The first squad up executes the exercise with ease but with Domino squad they fail again. Their mistakes have nearly sealed their fate as maintenance clones, considered complete failures but get one more chance to pass the test. That evening two of the clones from Domino talk to Shaaki Ti requesting a transfer to another squad. She denies them, telling them that to pass they must know how to work together but will allow their squad to take the test for a second time.
With some time to stew on their next opportunity to bond together in the face of failure, the troopers are ready for the test. Even with the new level of teamwork their work may be thwarted when they realize the grappling hooks needed to reach the top have been stolen by their instructor bounty hunter who hopes they fail. The unfairness is argued to Shaaki Ti but she points out the enemy doesn't play fair either.
The team adapts though, and begin using the enemies gun emplacements as a step ladder to the top and are able to complete the exercise and graduate. Shaaki Ti confronts the bounty hunter but does admit she likes his tactic of forcing the clones to think on their feet. Domino squad can now join their brothers in the fight for the Republic.
