I actually like this movie. Best of the found footage films in my opinion.

God, I LOVED Cloverfield when it came out. Shame they never made that sequel...

Really like this movie, would have been in the Besties if it were up to me. Still Half-good will do.

I'm surprised that all of the (I guess) ARG things that were going around weren't mentioned in the marketing campaign segment of this. Whether that would be considered good or bad isn't my call, but there is a ton of crazy information and theories about the movie that make no sense without the knowledge that came from sites associated with the movie.

I probably would have had a better experience in the theater if I didn't have to sit in the front two rows since the place was packed. The shakicam fucked me up.

The building that causes the 9/11 dust cloud imagery was the Woolworth building, not the Chrysler building. Good video anyways. I'm usually not bothered by shakicam, so I thought the movie was great.

I wonder if the Cloverfield monster is the alien from Super 8.

The opening party scene was painful to sit through in the theater. You couldn't wait for the monster to destroy everything after that.

I'm also voting for a "Bestie", t'was goode. T'was... Although my expectations were zero, I had no idea this movie existed until I saw it.

I actually think that Cloverfield is one of the better Found Footage films, like in the top three I'd say.

The party scene sucked and some of the characters were lacking but I thought the movie was pretty damn exciting

And man, that marketing campaign....gave me some incredible hype

I liked this movie a lot. The pacing was great but the end left a lot to be desired. Still a ton of unanswered questions and I hope they make a sequel.

I looooooved Cloverfield when it came out, I've seen it so many times. I haven't recently, though. Really should watch it again some time.

Wait, half good? I could've sworn this movie did better critically then that, of course I didn't read reviews when it came out.

But if these comments are anything to go by I'm not the only duder that dug Cloverfield.

This movie was terrible, and I love giant monster movies. Really disagree with you here. Mainly it was the acting and lack of tension for me. The latter mostly because I wanted those characters to die as soon as possible to get them off screen.

I really liked the movie but it's not something I want to watch again.

They aren't. Different size, different look, different demeanor ... plus the one from Super 8 goes away at the end where this creature is shown arriving at "the end".
