2011 may have been the year of the comic book movie, but 2012 looks to be the year of good comic book movies. Based on what we know so far and what we've seen, which is going to make the most cash out of all the ones coming out next year? 
 
- The Dark Knight Rises 
- The Avengers 
- The Amazing Spider-Man 
- Man of Steel 
 
And just for shits and giggles 
- Ghost Rider: Spirits of Vengeance

I'm betting on The Dark Knight Rises. It won't beat the previous film, but it's probably gonna reach $700-800 million or something. I'm sure they will market the shit out of The Avengers though, so you never know what could happen.

I'm betting on The Avengers. It definitely is the most anticipated out of those films.

I always thought lots of people were against it, kinda.

Avengers since it has had five (arguably six) movies that all lead up to it, featuring a multitude of awesome characters, and they were all successful.  also, avengers is probably more popular overseas.     
the dark knight rises will do amazingly, but it has only had two movies before it and the second one wasnt a leag-up into a third.  and families are going to skip it because batman is really really violent.   
its gonna be a good race though.  i could easily see either of those two reaching that level.   
amazing spider-man is not going to reach that level because 1) its being released around the same time as TDKR (that could change) and 2) its a reboot a little soon and 3) since sam raimi's spider-man had such an epic scale and relatable premise (what with the harry-peter rivalry), the new one will be trying so hard to distance itself from it it will end up looking less good.  the movie will probably garner a sequel, though--it just wont be a big one.     
man of steel is based on a superhero who has not gotten the same level of interest as batman spiderman or even iron man in recent years  he seems a little dated, a little to unrelatable, and the story has been rebooted a lot.  

Batman will crush the other films, Avengers will probably do a little more than Thor and Captain America but probably less than the Iron man movies.

I think Batman is going to destroy the others. Although hopefully The Avengers does well, too. I'd like to see them both succeed. The other three I couldn't care less about.
