Just like NBC's other comedies, it's been given an 13 episode order for next year. It's no #sixseasonsandamovie but it's better than nothing!

Streets ahead!

Very glad about this, but I can't help feeling that this show is surviving only because NBC can't come up with something that they think is better. Hopefully they'll stay as un-innovative as possible and let these good shows have room to breathe.

@RockinKemosabe: Side note: I am completely not trying to sound like a jerk here so please excuse me if I do because this is an earnest question; what's the point of #tagging a word/phrase when it's not on twitter? I don't tweet myself, so I feel like I may be missing something, but is it just a style choice, or is there something deeper? Again, no judgments here, just curious! :)

4 seasons and a movie works for me

After its done though man NBC will be dead to me, ok i'll have to watch some of the Olympics on there but AFTER that it's dead to me.

@gangly: It's a joke from the show. It came up when Abed was upset about the possibility of The Cape being cancelled.

@RockinKemosabe: Ha! nice. I have seen other folks use that odd "#something" in other posts, but maybe they're all Abed related. ;)

Woot! Thought for sure they would cancel it but NBC seems to really be waffling on these decisions.

I think something as deviously clever as this is beyond what seems to be a network that just has no idea what to do with its shows, but the constant risk of cancellation must give the ratings a little boost, if only from nerds like us.

It's been looking pretty good for Community's renewal chances for the past month or so, but still - this is great news! Do we know if it's just 13 episodes or will it have an option to expand it out to a full 22+?

The rumours that Dan Harmon might not be back (with Neil Goldman and Garrett Donovan already having left) have me a little concerned though.

@skidd: I think it's only 13 episodes. It would really suck if Harmon left, I feel like his writing really drives the show. And I feel if he leaves Chevy Chase will stay and try to influence the show into whatever he thinks it should be.

@FinalDasa: Ah right, so 13 but not officially a final season like 30 Rock?

Yeah, hopefully Chase's continuation on the show hasn't come at the cost of Harmon. Obviously, I wouldn't like to see any of those involved leave, but if it's a choice between those two, I'd go for Harmon myself. I wonder how much influence Chase has on-set?

I won't lie, there was a moment on last night's episode where I actually thought "Oh man, they're actually going to end the show with all of them having been crazy the whole time." Glad to see it's coming back.

And just like that, NBC places it on Friday night... sigh.
