According to pretty much everyone, here's your link, NBC hasn't been getting any ratings recently and decided of all the shows to "bench" that it would be Community. Their lineup has been shuffled and Community was left out and in replacement will be 30 Rock. No clue what's happening with the 12 or so shows left in the season, including the usual Christmas episode.
I guess Whitney has the reins now not, the critically acclaimed 3 seasons on the air, Community.
Thoughts?
I think the writing is on the wall for this wonderful show. How can anyone have faith in humanity when every forth person in the world is watching bilge like TWO AND A HALF MEN and a gem like COMMUNITY goes largely unwatched.
I'd like to think DVD sales would be strong enough to keep it on the air, as the show is infinitely rewatchable.
If it gets the axe hopefully they'll at least get the chance to finish the season and send the show off in a good way.

@CashBailey: I don't think major networks look at things like DVD sales or Hulu viewings or anything modern. To them it's still about ratings for that night and that night only. Who cares if I watch the same thing on DVR and even watch the ads? Despite that counting as one more viewer to them, its nothing.
Its sad that Whitney gets a chance behind the force of 30 Rock and The Office but Community gets the bench.

True. You can't sell ads on DVDs.

I must stop and applaud NBC for yet another fantastic and brilliant move on their part. Pulling one of the best shows on TV and giving shows like Whitney time to shine. I have no words.........if we are real lucky they can bring back Outsourced now. Man moves like this make me realize why I could never be in the industry, I would never have been able to come up with a plan like this!
