So March 15 will be a day of ups and downs. I started out the day with the news that Diablo III will be released May 15th and than all the Whiskey Media being sold stuff hit but the day ended with Community returning!!!

So did anyone else catch the return of the super referential meta humor filled area based comedy? I liked it definatly not as strong as Modern Warfare 1 or 2 or a couple of the other genre specific episodes but it was still strong. Drunk Jeff and Britta yelling at eachother excepting the power of marriage while simultaniously complaining about it was nice. Shirley is defintly the "Lisa" of the show I really don't care about her character she has some funny moments (like pinball episode) but is just to nice I guess is decent adjective. Normal Troy and Ahbed were kinda sarcastic D-bags this needs to be explored more.

WAR Screened Pups

It wasn't a great episode but it was pretty solid. Troy and Ahbed were pitch perfect as yuppie normal people. I wish they would give us a sneak peak into their 24 hour weird-a-thon though.

I thought it was one of the stronger episodes this season, and came out firing on all cylinders. One of the things Community does better than nearly every show (especially in these later seasons) is to make sure everyone has a moment. Even if this episode was arguably mostly about Shirley, the Britta and Jeff stuff is equally complex. In fact, Britta's in rare form in this one like she probably hasn't been all season.

I continue to be super glad Jim Rash is part of the regular cast. Dean > Chang forever and ever. OSCAR WINNING DEAN TO YOU.

I liked it mostly because it was back on TV. I wasn't too happy though that NBC kicked Parks and Rec to make way, but that's for another thread.

Shirley and her husband's argument got resolved a little too fast in my opinion, but Britta and Jeff drunkenly arguing at the end definitely stole the show for me. I think the move to showing the consequences of Troy and Abed's weirdness is a good thing, its never really had in the past and fleshes out the characters better.

It was good. To me, episodes of community boil down into two categories:

1. A Parody/Spoof/Homage

2. A kinda relatively traditional Sitcom.

While the latter usually incorporates some of the former, it's clear when an episode is focusing simply on the characters interacting. When Community isn't spoofing something, it's usually still pretty damn great of a show, and still easily the best comedy on TV, barring Parks and Recreation. However, when it does parody something, it just goes beyond.

I loved the limburg lean.

@litrock: Community's pretty great at giving all of its characters something to do in each episode, and this one was an excellent example. Shirley and Andre confronting their competing goals, Troy and Abed trying to be normal, Pierce trying to find something to put his name on after being fired from Hawthorne Wipes, Jeff admitting his hatred of commitment because of his father leaving, Britta confronting her fear of inevitable complacency, and Annie... trying to help plan a wedding. Ok, Annie didn't have much to do in this episode. That's fine- the Annie's Move episode was a great one for her. And there was that moment when she sprang into the scene out of nowhere, mounting the couch side-saddle. Hilarious, and oddly enthralling. This show's an excellent one, and I'm incredibly happy to be able to watch new episodes again. Looking forward to the rest of this season, and being optimistic about season 4.

Actually I vastly prefer these episodes to the genre parodies like "A Fistful of Paintballs" and think that the people who only rave about those episodes don't really get what makes Community so great.

I loved that they brought the monkey back which flipped Troy back to "normal" :D So totally random.
