Let me just say that this is easilly Kevin Smiths worst movie to date. His previous movies have witty dialogue, hilarious conversations and fun storylines. Cop Out is basically the opposite of that.
When the movie begins we are introduced to James Monroe (Bruce Willis) and Paul Hodges (Tracey Morgan). Two NYPD cops, and they're celebrating their ninth year together. Thirty or forty minutes of boring exposition later they're knee deep in some drug lord escapade that I really didn't care about. It all basically begun over James selling a baseball card to pay for his daughters wedding. Talk about a really interesting plot.
Bruce is playing his old annoyed grumpy self again and Tracey is doing the usual shouts all the time routine he does in everything. This is good in small bits, but doing it for almost two hours? Just doesn't hold well with me.
Most of the jokes are either just stupid or go on for way to long. I honestly think they could have cut 30 minutes down of this movie if they cut out all the completely pointless scenes. A good example is the scene where Dave (played by Seann William Scott) is telling a knock knock joke and Paul just has to keep shouting "No" for a good minute. Really pointless.
Stay away from Cop Out since if you're like me you'll laugh about a total of three times in the whole film.
