It's a scary ghost! Oh, wait, it's just celebrity Ted Danson. My mistake.
It's a scary ghost! Oh, wait, it's just celebrity Ted Danson. My mistake.

After Laurence Fishburne left his role on CSI, you knew that the showrunners would have to lure some kind of big name to replace him. He's no Morpheus, but how's Ted Danson strike you? CBS announced yesterday that good old Sam Malone is going to be focusing his laser beams and polishing off his DNA spectrum analyzer, or whatever they use on that show, for a major regular role next season as the head of the graveyard shift of the CSI crew.

Danson's coming off well-regarded turns on Bored To Death and Damages, with the latter role earning him a Golden Globe nomination and the former role apparently still continuing despite his new workload. He's a TV actor by trade, so he should fit right into the busy schedule that such a high-profile show demands, and he's a familiar face to the older demographic that CSI caters to, having been a regular on Cheers for over a decade. He'll start up with the series' season premiere on September 21st, when it shifts to Wednesdays from Thursdays.

In another TV casting news, it looks like professional dreamboat Mark Valley will be joining the cast of Harry's Law next season after the cancellation of Human Target. Valley worked with showrunner David Kelley on The Practice, so he's a known quantity, and he's certainly easy on the eyes. He's also quite attractive. I mean to say he's good-looking.

Alright, I'll stop now.

Mark Valley used to be married to Fringe actor Anna Torv.  I love Anna Torv... I've got a huge crush on Bolivia Dunham, Olivia's counterpart from the alternative universe.

I couldn't care less about CSI or Mark Valley.

Guess I'll be checking out Harry's Law next. But tv-land needs more Jackie Earle Haley.

Ted Danson is looking more and more like Harry Caray every day.

Not a CSI fan, but Ted Danson is a boss. 'Becker' is still my favorite role from him, though.

From bar owner to criminal investigator. Ted Danson is truly a man among men.

I never saw Human Target but its sad it didn't last because it is based on a comic book property. Then again, not all comic book properties are guaranteed to garner interest from TV viewers.

I never watch CSI but its pretty good casting, he's a cool actor, I like him even if some of his work hasn't been remarkable from the past, he's OK. That Frankenstein looking sumofabitch.

Now get him to partner up with John Ratzenberger, George Wendt and Woody Harrelson And I might watch the show

Ted Danson needs some sunglasses. CSI Miami has taught me that it's impossible to solve crimes without them.

Poor guy. But I can't fault him for getting paid.

Ted Danson in CSI, I like this thought.

Also, Mark Valley was in short lived series called Keen Eddie a few years back. And it was wonderful.
