What Lynch movies to watch?

I'm in the Lynch mood right now but I don't know what to watch. I've seen Eracerhead, Elephant man and Twin Peaks but I have what the other movies are about, and kind of don't want to know until I watch it myself. I just want to know what is the movie I should watch right now. I would say I want something with a weird atmosphere but it would be redundant (like repeating the topic title again and again is not redundant enough).

Any/All of them.  But I guess if you're looking for just one I would agree with Mulholland Dr. or maybe Blue Velvet.

Gonna third Mulholland here. Might be my favorite.

Blue Velvet if you want to see Lynch at his most "normal", Mullholland Dr./Lost Highway if you want to see strange atmosphere.

Really? Most normal? If you're looking for normal Lynch I'd say The Straight Story The Elephant Man and Dune are pretty normal compared to his other stuff as well, since the first is based on a real person and the second is based on a book.

In closing, David Lynch is the greatest living director.

I could not possibly disagree with that statement more.

To each their own...

Blue Velvet is one of my favorites, but if you like his movies in general, you really can't go wrong with any of them.

Yeah, good call.  I've never seen The Elephant Man or The Straight Story and I often forget Straight Story even exists.  I wouldn't necessarily recommend Dune to anyone.  The movie chops up the book pretty bad and I assume it would be near incoherent to anyone who didn't already know the story.  Blue Velvet has a linear storyline with tangible events.  I feel it's relatively normal or perhaps I'm just desensitized.

Im throwing in love for Wild At Heart. Its not as good as Blue Velvet but damn if it aint entertaining. Watch and amaze at how Diane Ladd could have possibly been nominated for an Oscar for her turn as the mother. Not to mention Nicholas Cages jacket which represents his individuality and sense of personal freedom. The whole film is gleefully bad in a deliberate way. Its almost like an anti Blue Velvet since it still has a linear plotline but aggressively fights anything approaching convention.

In descending order of awesomeness:
Blue Velvet
Straight Story
Eraserhead
Wild At Heart
Elephant Man
Inland Empire
Lost Highway
Mulholland Drive (I havent seen it in a long time but I am not a fan.)
and then somewhere at the bottom you can throw in Dune beneath his early shorts.

The Elephant Man: if you want to bawl like a baby.
Blue Velvet: if you want to shit yourself  Dennis Hopper R.I.P.
Wild at Heart: if you want to feel glad your life is normal
Eraserhead: if you haven't had a good dream/nightmare in a while
Inland Empire or Lost Highway: if you are looking for a good reason to kick David Lynch's ass
Mulholland Dr.: if you want to say WTF all the way home
The Straight Story: is just a very nice movie, but not Lynch as we know and love him
Dune: well shit, I don't hate it
Fire, Walk With Me: I don't know why
Twin Peaks pilot: because Special Agent Dale Cooper is so much goddamn fun!
EDIT if you have Netflix streaming you can checkout a documentary about Inland Empire(which may already be on the dvd) called Lynch. I enjoyed it. Lynch2 not so much.

My favorites would be Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart, and Eraserhead
