Awesome movie, but yeah I need to defend it a lot. My girlfriend and I watch horror movies all month long, by the 15th we get really bad nightmares but its still fun :)

Good movie

Not really a great ending but still.  It's also funny to see Prague as a stand-in for New York

I really didn't like this movie, but then again the last time I saw it was when it first came out. Maybe if I watch it again I'll grow to like it more, or just still hate it.

I have not seen this but will be sure to check it out.

I'll be damned, more people that like this one.

I love Ninth Gate. It's a good thriller, interesting look into the publishing world and rare book dealers, interesting look into some seriously mentally ill individuals, and Johnny Depp does a great job with the character. I dig it.

I saw this movie about 9 or 10 months ago, and really enjoyed it. I usually don't like thrillers or slow paced movies, but this thing was really good if for no other reason than because Depp is such a fantastic actor, and his character stole every scene.

I love this movie. People who don't are the ones who need defending.

Looks a bit goofy for me.

Updated the list.

Really great movie. One of those weird ones were both the book and the movie stand on their own (mostly b/c the movie totally ignores the Dumas elements of the book).

I dated a girl who was into this movie as completely serious and VERY important. That was...an interesting relationship.
I'm just happy to see this feature return to the site and would like to ask for more, please. I know, controversial stance to take, but I don't care WHO I offend with it!

Watched this years ago and again not long ago. It's suitably odd and Depp deffinitely does his part.

But generally I find Roman Polanski films quite uncomfortable to watch, which is the point I guess but it still grates a little bit.

Sorry Dudes, but I think the Ninth Gate is boring.

Great movie! Couldn't agree with you more about the pacing, it's what gives this film just the right tone. I think I'm going to watch it tonight.

Love this film.
This and Secret window, are my 2 favourite DEPP movies.
The latter also being the best STEPHEN KING movie adaption ever.
Also both are in my top 10 HORROR movies list.

Is it my imagination or is Navarro sporting a black eye?

I have only seen parts of this film so I cant really judge.

The ending completely destroys the film.  I felt like I wasted my time afterwards.
skrutopon Oct. 5, 2010 at 1:07 p.m.
Why do movies like this always have creepy twins?  "Play with us...."

I need to see End of Days and Devil's Advocate again.  Ahnold in a demon-thriller movie, with the name Jericho Cane no less,  is just too damn good. "We had a difference of opinion.  I thought my wife and daughter should live.  He disagreed."
