So who's excited about Dexter Season 5!!

I'm one disc into Season 4.  I've been a huge fan of the show thus far, and I have to say I'm a little disappointed with how the lastest season is going so far.  Just not as taught or well-written as the previous three, which was some of the best TV I've seen in a long time. 
 
I'm hoping things ramp up a bit more.  Also, those who follow the Dexter page on Facebook, be warned.  They flat out spoiled the ending to Season 4 in a Status Update that was quite hard to miss.

See, I liked Season 3 because of the kindred soul/friend plotline with Miguel Prada.

They start off as friends, bond over blood lust, and eventually become adversaries.  I also like the part at the end, when Dexter is captured by the skinner dude, and he shows absolutely zero fear.

@Scotty_Gun: I thought it was a pretty good season, but overall the weakest so far. 
 
I do love with it though when people expect Dexter to act emotional or be scared and he just isn't, like his confrontations with Doakes in the earlier seasons.

I have been counting down the days to the new season. I'll be watching the Emmys tonight to see If Dexter wins. Only one thing i hate about the show is that they killed off Doakes. lol

I have a feeling that this is going to be the season where Dexter finally fucks up big time.  They`ve shown in the past seasons that he tends to get sloppy when he lets his emotions take over, and after last season`s finale, I wouldn`t be surprised if he actually ends up getting caught.  Whatever happens, I cannot wait!

I absolutely love this show!  Can't wait for Season 5 and it looks to explore the "character" of Dexter a little more.

I've been looking for an opportunity to get into this show, since I hear great things about it. And I just saw that Season 1-3 on blu-ray is $100 OFF ON AMAZON!! $70 for the first three seasons on blu-ray, so I am totally picking it up. I'm going to marathon through 4 seasons so I can begin watching the 5th as it airs. I'll probably miss the first two episodes, but I'll see them some other way.

I was really late to this show so I'm behind and can't read the thread.  I wish I had listened to the good reviews a long time ago.  :(

I consider you lucky. Some of my best TV watching moments came from watching every episode of Dexter back to back over a couple weeks time. Sure, I could watch them all over again, but it just wouldn't be the same.  :P

I thought I wouldn't like it, but I did right from the start.  I started plowing through them so fast, I had to take a break for a week or so, before I finished off the second season. 
 
I know what you mean by being lucky.  I have a friend who just borrowed my season 1 DVDs for The Wire because she's never seen it.  And I KNOW she'll love it.
