Screened has become one of my favorite sites since it's launch.  Thanks Alex, Matt, and everyone else involved.

"Le diner de con" is such a classic French comedy, I don't think I want to risk it with the american remake.

Seriously, when did a American remake of a European movie was actually good?

I'm looking at you Jimmy Fallon and Queen Latifah for completly ruining Taxi... The original movie (the first two at least) are really really good. And it's also where I discovered Marion Cotillard so it's a big plus lol.

Glad to hear that Charlie St. Cloud is pretty good, I'm looking forward to checking it out sometime in the next week.

Have either of you guys seen 17 Again? After seeing that film I don't know how it's possible to dislike Efron. It's such a surprisingly fantastic comedy that somehow has spawned from an overdone and incredibly generic genre, and Efron anchors that film like know other. Still one of my favorite performances of the past few years. Really hope you guys get to check it out if you have not already. There's also a joke in there about his percieved homosexuality that is played really well.

Holy shit, what station are they listening to that actually plays Ted Leo?  I heard Atvian Eyes in there at 4 minutes, and now that station has my loyalty.

@FLYmeatwad:  I haven't seen it, but Efron's good enough in this that I might check it out.

@Rorie: Cool, really hope you enjoy it. Definitely not close to my favorite film from last year, but it's on HBO all the time lately and when it's on it's just something I can't turn off, so I've probably seen it more times than any other film from 2009.

I really wish that Robert Pattinson had never become popular, because it would mean that the Water For Elephants movie would star Efron instead of Pattinson, who can, you know, actually act. And if that movie is anything less than fantastic, I will cry deeply.

And dude, a song from High Violet was on. I envy that the radio stations you have play The National.

I'm pretty sure Zac Efron's first role was in an episode of Firefly.

I guess I can't really hate a guy who was in Firefly.

The problem I have with Efron is not really as him as an actor, because I have actually never seen him in anything that given him a chance to show off if he really is good or not, but I do have a problem with that whatever he's in he never really fits in, it's like he's the plastic model direct from uncanny valley. It just breaks any immersion and like in Me and Orson Welles he just stands out as a sore thumb and I just wish that he can grow up fast enough so we can get rid of this baby face of his. Effron would need to take on some method acting roles, so he can break out from that.

Is that The National's 'England' on the stereo at the beginning of the afterthoughts section?!

F-yes if it was; saw them live a couple of weekends back, beautiful.

(If it was on the radio, God I wish we had radio stations that played good shit like that in England).

Off topic, but after seeing the Kane And Lynch 2 QL, lo-fi youtube videos never looked so good . . .

Do you believe in miracles?  I hope Matt Rorie survives his teen idol cash in.

I'm wondering if dinner is worth seeing.

I'm glad other people are finally on the Efron bandwagon. He's going to be a star some day. Give him a few years to grow.
Dinner for Schmucks Trailer #2

Dinner for Schmucks: typical screwball summer comedy or brilliant treatise on class warfare?

Dinner for Schmucks trailer

Paul Rudd and Steve Carell reunite for this odd couple comedy where the only way to climb the corporate ladder is to do it on the backs of the entertainingly dim.
