On the surface, another shoot 'em up gritty cop action flick from the 70's, but this film isn't just pioneering because it followed the formula years before it became popular, Dirty Harry is much more eloquent and artistic than people give it credit for. It moves gradually and balances out its campy dialogue with suspenseful build-ups and some decent characterization of the infamous anti-hero.
