Worst possible news considering the other names being mentioned. The guy couldn't be more dull in every single film I've seen him in, a terrible fit for Tarantino in my opinion.

I was really hoping for Idris Elba, but I guess I didn't know he had signed on for del Toro's film.

This is bad news. Hopefully Foxx can put aside his ego for the sake of what could be an amazing movie.

Tarantino ALWAYS gets killer casts together. And while I feel like Will Smith needed a movie like this more, and would've been really interesting to see, Jamie Foxx is a killer choice. This should be awesome.

Jamie Foxx is even more rebel than Warren Beaty.

He picked Jaimie Fox over Idris Elba. I just went from excited to disappointed in no time flat. Why would a directing mastermind pick a dull no talent hack.  RIP Django Unchained because Jamie Fox just murdered this possibly great movie
Learn how to read.
"Instead, Elba signed on for Guillermo del Toro's latest, Pacific Rim."
If anything, Elba turned down the role, Tarantino didn't turn down Elba.
Go troll somewhere else.

Seems like a good fit for me. He has charisma when he needs it, he can act when he needs to, and if Quentin is feely extra corny he can sing slave hymns.

I was really looking forward to Idris Elba playing the titular role. Jamie Foxx is a step down, in my opinion.

Oh well, in Tarantino We Trust.

Jamie Foxx was so good in COLLATERAL. Tarantino is no chump. He must know he can get the performance he wants out of Foxx to have cast him. Especially since he can get someone easily as good (like Elba) for far less money.

Ray was a great movie, with a great performance by Foxx.  I also liked Collateral, The Kingdom, and thought he was okay in Law Abiding Citizen.  He definitely can act, so that gives me hope that he will be good in Quentin Tarantino's new movie. Leonardo DiCaprio playing the Villain really excites me, and also Christolph Waltz being in the movie is exciting too.

What Jamie needs to do is play it straight, and no winking, which shows off his ego.

@Turtlefuzz: Listen here you worthless piece of shit don't you ever fuckin condescend me . All I was stating was I prefer Idris Elba as an actor and don't respect Jamie Foxx in the slightest. and if you ever ever speak to me again like you fuckin know me I will kill every member of your fuckin family then rip out your veins and make you dance like a meat puppet and when your sick of the hell I've put you through and your ready to die I'll skin you alive and wear your skin to dinner with your girlfriend. So think twice before opening your fuckin trap. Fuckin condescend me motherfucker.

@Deadman1595: Don't ever speak that way to any user on these forums, or any where on the site, ever again. You're being temporarily forum banned because no one should ever talk that way to another human being. Around here we use adult language sure but never to demean, threaten, belittle, or attack someone else. Don't do it again.
