Lars Von Trier's visually bare film about a young woman named Grace as she is found running from a group of men and hiding out in a small town that initially embraces the helpful hideaway but then turns on her as they start to fear their own safety.

Trivia:

Lars Von Trier planned Dogville as the first of his USA - Land of Opportunities trilogy with Manderlay being the second film and a so far unfinished Washington to be the third.
